Hyper-V in Windows 8 Client & Server

by Marin Franković on 15 November, 2011

Besides improving of well known feature set from Hyper-V 2.0, Microsoft decided to enable this great technology on a client operating system, Windows 8. One major hardware request on client side is a support for SLAT. Interesting enough, SLAT is not required on server version of the OS. To check if your computer supports SLAT, use Coreinfo command line tool as administrator. Tool is developed by Mark Russinovich.
