From time to time I like to watch sport events. Like huge majority of Croatians, I watch soccer. I do not follow domestic soccer as much as I fall into “hysteria” when there is world or European soccer championship. Sadly, this year Croatia will not be going to south Africa.
Browsing through my archives I stumbled upon an event that made me loose my cool and my nerves more that any other sport or human ever before! 🙂 As I remember it, it was warm summer Monday when Goran Ivanišević played against Patrick Rafter in his fourth Wimbledon finale. He was invited to it and nobody thought that he will ever win it.
First couple of sets, I watched at home, but I got so nervous that I went to the beach and said to myself that I will not watch the end of it. But when I came to the beach, everybody was watching the game in the near by bar, so naturally, I went there to watch it. My handbag and my cigarettes (I was smoking back then) flew around and I kicked my own shoes couple of times because I was so frustrated about Gorans playing. Finally, Goran won his first and last Wimbledon finale and we where all happy about that. His hometown, Split, organized huge reception party.
Well, in that name, lets watch few last moments of the game.
