SCCM 2007 R2 is out

As you probably know System Center Configuration Manager R2 is out. So what is new in the R2 release:

  • Application Virtualization
  • Forefront Client Security Integration
  • SQL?Reporting?Services Reporting
  • Client Status Reporting
  • Operating Systems Deployement Enhancements (Unknown computer support and multicast deployement)


You can download trial version of SCCM 2007 R2 here. More information about SCCM 2007 R2 can be found on its official webpage.


IMPORTANT: Be aware that SCCM 2007 R2 requires that you have SCCM 2007 min. ver. 4.00.6 installed!

Thanks for the clarification, I am looking into the R2 release but I was not really sure on its new features. Also, thanks for the reminder to keep SCCM 2007 4.6 installed before making the switch!
