… and now every time you start your computer you have to select browsers that will install on your computer. Microsoft released Browser choice update (KB976002) through Windows update yesterday. If you are installing updates on your personal computer, you have a clear choice of removing this update from the list and even hiding it all together.

But, if you are corporate user and you use WSUS and automaticly update high priority updates in your network, it is a good chance that this update was deployed in your network. If you want to remove it, here is explanation on how to do it (KB2019411). And if you are too lazy to open another browser window, here is C/P from the web page:

The following information is provided to help system administrators manage the display of the Browser Choice update screen in managed personal computing environments that are under a Volume Licensing program.   

Registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\BrowserChoice

Value name: Enable

Value type: DWORD

Possible values:

1 Display the Browser Choice update (default)
0 Do not display the Browser Choice update
